So I’m going to keep this simple. I used to watch a lot of hay Leno at work. I have never seen him be so critical of a car.
It’s still an interesting car and the man showing it off knows all his numbers which is impressive but J ay doesn’t pull a single punch the entire time. Enjoy.

The hand motion he does after he says “@ ten times the price” says it all. Great “what the fuck is that” hands Mr. Leno.

Jay really tries to be neutral, since the show is supposed to be celebrating /appreciating cars and car culture, not a critical review program, but, if you watch carefully, you can see times where he lets a little of his opinion slip through when he isn't totally on board with the car and/or the person. It kind of seemed like he was trolling that Land Cruiser guy the two times he was on.

Was mysterious man from mysterious car company not expecting these questions?
Edit. Just pulled up images of a Fiskar Karma, and by the looks of that greenhouse, they used a LOT more than
“no, the uh.. the underlyin... THE SKELETON” of the Karma to make this.
Side mirrors look to be the same too.

I got as far as, “W e want to change the fundamental paradigm of how a vehicle is steered.”

What this guest glosses over is that you’re essentially paying $1.3 million for what is technically a used car. These cars are not all new vehicles but are heavily reworked Fisker Karmas with different bodywork and new powertrains. Think Fiero-based kitcar in which the Fiero is stripped down, has its floorpan stretched to match the wheelbase of a Diablo replica, then the rest of the car is assembled. Jay Leno’s guest says they reuse the VIN of the donor car to get around the USA DOT crash testing requirement, claiming the donor car has already been crash tested and approved by the DOT. Kind of a cheat if you ask me. You’re charging 1.3 mil for what’s essentially a heavily reworked Fisker Karma but you can’t be bothered to put proper development work into it? Passing on this.
Even Tesla doesn't do this sort of smoke and mirrors with a car's safety paperwork.

Its expensive because it’s completely bespoke. No commodity parts in this car.
Well, it’s a fisker karma.

At the end of the day, that's the sort of proactive, out of the box thinking, that will seriously move the needle for this business model.

So, basically, the same body has now been sold as the Fisker Karma, the Karma Revero, the VLF Destino, and, now, the Drak o GTE. The Karma has become the modern equivalent of the Cord 810/812, getting passed around to different automakers looking a way around having to pay for new stamping dies of their own.

Here is a different way of what I think is happening with this car. The guy obviously needs money for the business, but no one ever wants to give up equity. He is basically raising funding by finding the people out there that have to say “first!” After that, I am sure the price will go down.

No money leftover for door handles, a charging port, or even hood hinges.
No dynamic torque biasing, for driver involvement? no money left over for machine learning hardware on board, either.
all the talk of useability and pragmatism... for a re-hashed sedan that they are going to try to build 25 units for some unbelievable price.... I wonder if they are using flood-recovery Karmas as donors...
So much vaporware... it is so clear that Jay has very little time for it, but is far too classy to actually unleash. THAT is object lesson in Class Act. He barely has to say anything at all.
I hope the guy was just nervous, or having an off-day on-camera... his pushiness and smugness became tiresome, if not giving the benefit of the doubt.

The sales partner from Drako just doesn’t seem to ‘get’ Jay Leno... His smugness and over-
confidence doesn’t play well with somebody like Mr. Leno, who’s pretty much seen it all
. I think a little humbleness goes a long way with Jay... Shiv doesn’t seem to understand this, making his sales pitch cringe worthy to listen to. I l
ove the car though;
huge improvement over the Fisker ‘donor’. It just needs a better tech package for taking advantage of the 4 inboard motors, which in
my opinion would become the car’s
primary selling point.

And the interior is pretty plain and plasticy for a 7 figure car. A beat up 15 year old Jaguar from a seedy buy here/pay here lot would be nicer inside.

At the very least I can respect them for not announcing a nice render that will never exist in reality. They can get outta here with that $1 Million price tag though.

Can’t blame them for trying to avoid it . Multibillion dollar stamping factories are no joke, and monies will be tight for a start up.

Did you see the guy saying the name “It’s a 2012 Fisker Karma”? He was so ashamed and clearly did not want to say it, and his entire credibility went down the drain with it for me.
The correct way of doing it should have been honesty, this is a modified Fisker Karma that contains technology we’ve developed for 10 years and it has 1200hp then straight to the impressive engine bay. That’s it.
He just kept on making himself look like a snakeoil salesman. Oh, it’s relentless all the waay! Ok, if it does 3 second 0-60 and 206 top speed, why do I need the 1200hp? Purely bragging rights th at’s it, no improvement in power/performance compared to the markedly fastsr Taycan/S at 2.6s 0-60.
Plus a bespoke 1.5m car MUST have a bespoke interior, not a 2012 karma interior everytime you get in.
I admire their work on the technology and hardware, they should sell that for lighter electric cars made from a clean paper sheet in order to make the power worth it.
